Yew Trees

Yew Trees

Yew Trees

These yew trees must be over 100 years old and are now so wide and beyond mere trimming that we are cutting all 3 of them down.  It would be nice to replace them with some smaller, younger, trees.  Any volunteers to buy and plant a couple of baby yew trees…?

You may also like to look at the orchids just East of the yew trees.  See orchid photos under the Gallery tab.

The Lee Mill post office is available on Friday afternoons, after Toddlers Together, from about 13:00 – 16:00, with refreshments no longer generally available.  Once again, it was a case of “use it or lose it”; villagers please take note.  The post office counter is able to provide almost all of the normal services of a normal post office, including pensions, cash withdrawal from banks, paying money into banks.  They might even be able to sell you a 1st class stamp…

The church monthly ‘4th Monday’ coffee mornings are still happening on Mondays, though.

2016 Lee Mill Mini Olympics

2016 Access to Lee Mill Chapel

Further to the Lee Mill parking meeting held last year (2015), it is hoped that parking will be made available on Plymouth Road alongside the chapel to double as a traffic calming measure and a sort of wind-break to protect pedestrians from the unpleasantness of speeding aggregate lorries.

It should also be pointed out that there is a back way into the chapel grounds from New Park Road just next to the 20A bus stop.  This has recently been de-mudded.  The back gate is normally unlocked, but if you find it locked, please use the key to unlock the padlock.  There is a metalled path leading around the front of the chapel to the entrances.
